All things weather. Some things weather and fade faster than others things. Depending on where you live you may find your shutters, siding and other colored surfaces fading faster than your friend’s surfaces who lives in another part of the country or even in different parts of town. This is due to a number of factors including ultra violet light, rain, pollution and other localized environmental factors.
When colored surfaces are exposed to the environment a gradual breakdown of the surface takes place. This break down can cause the surface to lose color, become brittle, allowing for biological growth such as algae, mold, etc. or completely degrade. Improvents in technology have extended the life span of certain products. Some of these advances in technology are incorporated into Vinyl Renu™ and Shutter Renu™. This allows our product to protect your faded vinyl siding or faded shutters once restored giving you years of beauty.
As vinyl siding and shutters are exposed to moisture and UV light they begin to break down. This process is called oxidation. The material that holds the pigments (including titanium dioxide) begins to microscopically degrade. In some siding or shutters the pigments may also begin to degrade. These reactions produce fading. Most people will clean their vinyl siding or clean their shutters every year or two to remove the chalky appearance. The siding looks clean but much of the color is lost. Many people will notice that when their siding gets wet, it looks richer in color. That is because water gives the illusion that the color has been restored.
Vinyl Renu™ Professional Grade Cleaner Concentrate is designed to clean the vinyl siding and clean the shutters of the oxidation, mold, mildew, algae, bug spray, etc. This prepares the surface for Vinyl Renu™ and Shutter Renu™. Both products use a proprietary reaction process to restore the surface color. This restoration is done on a microscopic level. Neither product contain pigments or colorants to achieve this step. In addition, both products contain the latest high-end technology to protect the surface from UV rays and most biological growth for years.
